Calvert County is located in Southern Maryland, home to approximately 95,000 residents and one of the highest median household incomes in the state. The county seat is Prince Frederick, situated 35 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., and 55 miles south of Baltimore.


Calvert County is Maryland's smallest county in land area at 213 square miles, and is entirely a peninsula bounded by the Chesapeake Bay to the east and the Patuxent River to the west. This unique geography provides residents and visitors with abundant waterfront access, supporting boating, fishing, crabbing, and sailing throughout the county's many creeks and shorelines.
