Frederick County is located in north-central Maryland, home to approximately 295,000 residents, with the City of Frederick serving as the county seat. Spanning 663 square miles — Maryland's largest county by land area — Frederick County sits at the crossroads of the Piedmont Plateau and the Appalachian Mountains, bordered by Pennsylvania to the north and Virginia to the southwest.
