Prince George's County

Prince George's County is located in the heart of the Baltimore-Washington corridor, home to approximately 960,000 residents — Maryland's second most populous county — with Upper Marlboro serving as the county seat. Spanning 499 square miles, the county borders Washington, D.C. to the west and is just 15 minutes from the nation's capital, offering an urban atmosphere with scenic and peaceful communities throughout.

The county is one of the most diverse in the nation, with a majority Black population, a significant and growing Hispanic community, and residents representing cultures from around the world. The University of Maryland at College Park, one of the nation's leading public research universities, anchors the county's northern region along with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.

Prince George's County is filled with over 20,000 acres of award-winning parks, recreational facilities, and historic sites. The Patuxent River Park encompasses more than 7,000 acres of natural parkland along the county's eastern boundary, offering boat ramps, fishing piers, hiking, horseback, and kayaking. The Anacostia Tributary Trail System provides miles of paved trails connecting communities to waterfront parks and directly into Washington, D.C.

Major attractions include National Harbor on the Potomac River — home to the MGM National Harbor Resort Casino, the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, the Capital Wheel, and waterfront dining and shopping — as well as Six Flags America, Northwest Stadium, the College Park Aviation Museum, and the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
